LET IMPROV MAGIC AND AUDIENCE INTERACTION TRANSPORT YOUR GROUP THROUGH THE WARDROBE INTO YOUR OWN ADVENTURE.

It’s Fritz the Shepherd’s last night on Earth. If Bavarian-born Princess Eugenie will light a candle for him at the church down the road, he’ll finally be free to cross over to the other side. But she’s grown accustomed to his visits. Will she let him go without a price?

“The Forlornness” is a new work written by MFA in Arts Leadership student Audrey Herold, and serves as her Thesis project. Based on primary source diary accounts of a haunting in 1923, “The Forlornness” was workshopped by Dacha Theatre in 2020, and produced in partnership with Seattle University’s MFA in Arts Leadership program in 2023.

Part spooky ghost story & part poignant and sentimental, “The Forlornness” feels like “The Woman in Black” meets “Mary’s Wedding.” This historical-fiction thriller explores grief, hope, and saying “goodbye” before you’re ready. Mike Lion directs Mimi Santos & Sam Levatich in a tight 40 minutes with no intermission.
